I lost 99k 900g from a scammer

Rather than coming here to complain about it (although the op has a good point that the report system should extend to offline players) I recognized the reason I lost the money was because of my own fault, not ANet's or anyone else's. I was in a hurry and not paying attention and got 100g instead of 100k in a trade. Big deal, tough luck, time to earn it back.

The best thing you can do for running/services is not pay until the section you are paying for has been completed. I often see people in Beacon's Perch complaining they were scammed by paying 1k in advance for a Drok's Run that never took place. If someone insists on getting the money first, and showing it to them (NEVER on the ground, in a trade window), find another service (optimal) or take your chances. When dealing with more professional players, you can agree to a fair "payment plan" for paying as you go.

For my running services from Kaineng to Lutgardis, I charge at the end of every mission, starting with Vizunah Square (most people I run are Tyrian/Elonian and getting to and completing Vizunah is quick and painless). If someone wants the rest of the service and won't pay, then I've wasted only a few minutes of my time, and they're out of luck because I stop running them right there. Not many people offer the service reliably, and if I come across such a scammer, I will be certain to let the other survivor runners here on Guru know.

In conclusion, there is no guarantee for either party that you will get what you pay for, or are getting paid for. The best thing you can do is minimize your risks.

Lots of reports never get action..... the obvious HFFF botting that goes on - report them and they are still there day after day botting away.... the abusive people in RA, the leechers in Aspenwood, the scammers.....

/report sends a report that sometimes may be looked at I think....and rarely at that thus not happening...

However

/signed for /report on offline and also just on the player name wherever they are....

Its not a complaint about the scamming its a suggestion to improve the report option. I dont care how much money you make on predictions or whatever, i can make at least double of that farming elite missions and areas.

Its really a shame and sad to read what you wrote. A player that doesn't care about people getting scammed, it really sucks, you really suck.

Another stupid thing you said is to compare skill balancing with this improvement im suggesting. Do you have any idea about coding a game? im absolutely sure you dont. The amount of hours the developers would have to spend on make the report option available when player is offline is at least 1/20 if not more of the hours they would have to spend to do a skill balancing. Besides that, skill balancing has lots of different opinions, so they would have also to decide what and how to do it, which would increase the hours of work on this subject.

Please dont post more of your stupid things here.

THIS HAS BEEN SAID over TOO MANY TIMES, the rport system is krappy and flawed, SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP, U LOST 850g GUD JOB, losing stuff aint gonna get you any attention, ive lost an emerald balde when they firstc ame out i lost around 100k+212ectos, to this day i still regret it but nobody else cares, theyll just say TOO BAD, and seriously u can DO UW AND FoW easily with the right heroes, go search it up ppl have posted threads about it.

Today I ran into a guy in Kaineng who got scammed out of his mini shiro and couldn't report because the scammer went off to another district. I'm agreeable to being able to report people who went off to another district or set their status to offline, but in cases like scamming, I do think sending a screenshot would be better.

Well, I agree that if someone has:
- Being in a party with you.
- Being in the same district at the same time as you.
- Traded with you.
- Wispered to you.

There should be a leeway of 5 minutes between you last saw them to report them, even if they leave or disconnect.

But not just anyone offline.

I reported someone via the website one time for spamming a possible porn site just so Anet could check it out and deal with the problem if it was one. They said they were addressing it. Now, they might just have sent an automated response, but I still got one just the same. I haven't seen that person spamming the site again so I suspect they fixed the problem.

If you're not as skilled as the others to use heroes, fine. But if you absolutely must group with real people, don't cough up money until they do their part of the deal.

You can also still report with Support. That is, if it was that important.
